Digital Transformation in Fushë-Arrëz: The Launch of the ‘mCommunity’ Platform
Fushë-Arrëz has taken a significant step toward digital governance with the introduction of the “mCommunity” platform, a pioneering initiative developed by the Center for Social Innovations Blink 42-21. As part of Activity 3 of this project, the platform aims to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of municipal services for all citizens in real time.
On February 28, 2025, a crucial meeting took place between the staff of Blink 42-21 and QSNNN, alongside the Mayor of Fushë-Arrëz, Mr. Hil Curri, and municipal representatives. During this meeting, the official agreement to implement the “mCommunity” platform was signed, marking a milestone in the municipality’s digital transformation. The platform will streamline service delivery, ensuring that residents can access municipal services in a faster and more efficient manner through a user-friendly digital interface.
The initiative reflects a broader commitment to innovation and modernization in public administration, aligning with global trends in smart governance. Mayor Hil Curri and the municipal staff have played a pivotal role in facilitating this transition, demonstrating their dedication to improving public services and enhancing citizen engagement.
This groundbreaking project is supported by the regional initiative “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Common Values in the Western Balkans.” The project is implemented by Centar za promenu člani drustva (CPCD) in partnership with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), with financial backing from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
With the implementation of the “mCommunity” platform, Fushë-Arrëz sets an example for other municipalities in Albania, demonstrating how technology can be leveraged to improve governance and service delivery. This initiative represents a leap forward in digital innovation, ensuring more accessible and efficient municipal services for all citizens.
