DIGI-CORE Project Kicks Off Its Activities
The DIGI-CORE project has started. This is an important step to help people use digital tools and take part in decision-making in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. The project will help civil society organizations (CSOs) and promote open and fair decision-making. It also aims to bring these three countries closer together and support their goal of joining the Euro-Atlantic community.
Understanding the Digital Gap
The first activity of the DIGI-CORE project is Finding out the digital needs and skills of disadvantaged communities. This activity looks at how well different groups can use digital tools. These groups include rural women who cannot read, people who do not know how to use digital technology, and elderly people. Many of them find it hard to use online services, contact public offices, and join discussions about policies. By understanding these problems, the project will create solutions to help these people and make sure they are included in the digital world.
Working Together to Study the Problem
To understand the current situation, DIGI-CORE is working with Edutask and Blink 42-21 / Блинк 42-21 to create a survey. This survey will measure the digital skills of people in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. The results will help shape future project activities and make sure they meet the real needs of these communities.
After the survey is ready, the project team will go into the field to talk to people and collect useful information. Experts will conduct interviews and gather real experiences to get a clear picture of the digital skills gap in each country. The results will guide the creation of training programs and policy changes to help people use digital tools and take part in decision-making.
Steps Towards Digital Inclusion
After learning about people’s needs, the DIGI-CORE project will create new ways to help them engage with digital tools. The project will introduce simple and easy-to-use digital platforms so people can access public services and talk to decision-makers more easily. Training programs will be designed for each group, helping them gain confidence in using digital technology. This will make sure the project’s impact lasts for a long time.
What Happens Next?
As the project moves forward, there will be more activities like workshops, training programs, and discussions on policies. The main goal of DIGI-CORE is to help disadvantaged people learn digital skills so they can take part in decision-making and regional cooperation.
